The studio
Everything here is thrown by hand in a converted dairy shed, glazed in small batches and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Nothing is slip-cast. Because each piece is thrown individually, two mugs from the same batch will differ by a few millimetres and a shade of glaze — that is the point, not a defect.
All pieces are food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. The unglazed foot ring is left raw on purpose; it will not scratch a table but it will feel like stone.

Stock is whatever came out of the last firing. When a shape is listed it exists; when it sells there is a wait until the next kiln load, usually three weeks.
Questions people actually ask
- Can I order a set of six matching mugs?
- Yes, with about six weeks' notice. They will match in glaze and close in size, not identical.
- Do you ship?
- Within the UK, double-boxed. Breakages are replaced or refunded, no photographs required.
- Do you teach?
- Two beginners' evenings a month, four people at a time. Ask to be put on the list.
- Is the glaze lead free?
- Yes. All glazes are mixed in the studio from raw materials, and none contain lead or cadmium.
Visiting
The studio is open on Saturdays from 10 to 4, and by arrangement on weekday afternoons. There is parking for two cars in the yard and a kettle that is always on.
